May go through all of these myself to try and drum something up. VenusaurHP: 80 (363, recovery fails at 108 HP / 29.8%, SToss 4HKO)ATK: 82 (262, 125 min, 29-35 / 8.0-9.6% Max Confusion Damage)DEF: 83 (264, 95832 Phys. Defensiveness)SPC: 100 (298, 108174 Sp. Defensiveness)SPD: 80 (258, 15.62% Base RBY Critical Hit Rate)BST: 425Type: Grass/PoisonNotable MovesSleep Powder Razor Leaf Swords Dance Body Slam Hyper Beam Double-Edge Pros- One of the faster sleepers in the game, and a consistent one with Sleep Powder at that.
- STAB Razor Leaf is immensely powerful with a 99.6% criticial hit rate, allowing Venusaur to hit the Water-types of the meta for massive damage. It's the more powerful one out of it and Victreebel iirc, esp considering Speed.
- Ability to set up with Swords Dance to pad out its physical attacking potential with Body Slam or Hyper Beam. Double-Edge can net some niche KOs as well.
Cons- One of the few Grass-types to be without Stun Spore, despite getting the other powders, which limits its options.
- Competes with Victreebel for a place on teams, which does Swords Dance better while having Wrap and Stun Spore.
- Poison typing drags it down against Psychic-types while letting Earthquake hit neutrally.
- Absolutely mauled by Gengar

Tbh I think Venu's a better SD user than Bel, but the difference is very slim because there are obviously tradeoffs either way. Basically, Venu's superior longevity in the face of Don and its ability to not get 2HKO'd by Tauros are absolutely huge (obligatory note that Blizz+HB can KO, but isn't likely to, and you can still switch in on BS and live if no crit), whereas the KOs it misses out on are either not that important, or easily covered with support. The main one that's the issue is KOing Chans at +2, since Bel needs only a trivial amount of chip damage for it to be guaranteed, whereas it's much harder for Venu. Other notable KOs off the top of my head are Zam (Venu is still likely to KO at +2, but it's not guaranteed), and Jolt.
Of course, that's judging them purely as SDers. Overall Bel is a far better pokemon due to greater versatility, and the fact that the best responses to its popular dual status set tend to be the exact opposite of what you want against its SD set.
Tbh I used to think Venu was so outclassed as to be unviable, then I somehow ended up building teams where I felt like its addition was optimal, due to SD posing a greater threat than Egg, and its bulk against Don being valuable enough to run it over Bel
